About the Artist :
Fran is a Contemporary artist from Melbourne Australia presenting natural everyday moments of life in an uplifting and sometimes comical manner. Fran’s artworks start in reality from lived experience and evolve on the canvas leaning in to memory and intuition. Fran invites the viewer to connect with her artwork in an uplifting way using imagination to complete the story in her work.
From a young age Fran was encouraged to experiment with several creative outlets until she found expressing her thoughts in pictures to be the most satisfying of all. Her family members are all creatives and she says they inspire each other to pursue their creative dreams. Her Grandfather Ernie Carroll famously created comic strips for newspapers in the 60s 70s and 80s. He later went on to create and perform Ossie Ostrich throughout the years of Hey Hey it’s Saturday. Fran feels her comical style of painting is a quiet nod to her Grandfathers work.
